The first generation of GTOs was produced from 1964 to 1967. In 1964, the inaugural model saw approximately 32,450 units manufactured. In 1973, Pontiac revived the GTO nameplate using a more subdued version, which lasted until 1974. This era saw the production of roughly 4,800 units in 1973 and only about 1,000 in 1974, marking the end of an iconic chapter for the GTO.
